JEREMY “ALL DAY” WHITMOREjeremy all day whitmore

A product of the Turner Ashby High School wrestling program, Jeremy began wrestling at the age of 6 and excelled throughout his high school career, winning multiple district titles as well as becoming a regional champ and state runner-up. He found his greatest wrestling success in the Freestyle and Greco Roman styles, and by winning a Freestyle and multiple Greco-Roman state titles Jeremy was able to compete on the Virginia/USA National Team during his high school campaign.

The first “local boy” to enter the world of mixed martial arts, Jeremy stumbled upon the fight scene while attending college at the University of Kentucky. Although not wielding any formal training besides wrestling, Jeremy competed in multiple unsanctioned grappling and NHB competitions. By winning all said contests, he realized his potential and new found passion for the martial arts. Jeremy attended multiple martial arts gyms, including boxing, judo, and jiu-jitsu clubs in the Lexington, Kentucky area before graduating in 2004.

After completing his undergraduate work at UK, Jeremy furthered his education at the Medical College of Virginia in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. He also continued his pursuit of MMA in the “River City” by training at several different academies until he was introduced to Rick McCoy in 2006. Rick was Virginia’s first professional fighter and premiere trainer, and once Jeremy found Rick he knew he found the one coach he had been searching for since starting his MMA journey.

Forged by countless hours of training in the arts of sombo, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and boxing under the tutelage of McCoy, Jeremy quickly became a force in the amateur fight circuit. He was given the honor to be the first fighter to compete for the newly established McCoy Martial Arts Institute in April 2007, winning with ease in the first round of the King of the Ring event. Given the nickname “All Day” by McCoy himself for his seemingly endless conditioning obtained from his maniacal work ethic, Jeremy brought a dangerous profile to the mixed martial arts game. He ended his competitive career in 2010, remaining undefeated after spending his last years training with local legends Beau and Kyle Baker.

Jeremy currently serves as Center Manager and practices at Advantage Physical Therapy in Elkton, VA. He is also one of only several Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in the Harrisonburg area, which is widely considered the most prestigious certification in the fitness world. Furthermore, Jeremy has written a nutrition book for martial artists titled “Feeding the War Machine: Nutrition for Fighters” and has been published in Fight Magazine.

“All Day” is now extremely honored to pass his knowledge of MMA and fitness to his home community under the MMAI-Harrisonburg banner.
